“Fleet separation and owner operator policies in Atlantic Canada will remain intact”: Federal Fisheries Minister

The Telegram is reporting that Federal Fisheries Minister Keith Ashfield has stated the fleet separation and owner-operator policies under review will not be changed. Further, the Tory MP said, growing concerns in recent months that the policies would be eliminated were blown out of proportion.

The policies at hand protect the local inshore fishery against corporate takeover.
