As Libyan Air Force fighter jets attack rebels on the ground, calls for a no-fly zone increase and petroleum facilities in Libya are set on fire, oil markets get ever-more jittery. Overnight, across the world — in St. John’s, fuel prices climbed yet again. Gasoline now costs almost three cents more per litre; stove oil is up by about the same amount. If you heat your home with oil, you got a smack overnight. Furnace oil is up 3.69 cents a litre. That’s around $33 on a 900-litre tank. Ouch.
