Local man threatens to kill police officers

RCMP officers in western Newfoundland arrested a man over the weekend after he allegedly threatened to kill several police members. Police say the 21-year-old man from Stephenville called a dispatch officer and indicated he was planning to kill members of the police force in the Bay St. George area. RCMP officers went to his home and took the man into custody without incident. While in custody, police say he continued to threaten their officers, along with threatening correctional officers and probation workers. The young man is due in court today, facing multiple counts of uttering threats, breaching various court orders and one count of resisting arrest.
