A man who was accused of killing his wife, Chrissy Predham-Newman, in a St. John’s apartment in 2007 was granted bail again yesterday. Raymond Gerald Newman had already been free on bail while awaiting trial for his second-degree murder charge when his bail was revoked Feb. 13 after he was charged in connection with a reported assault. He applied for bail again and after a three-day bail hearing in our provincial Supreme Court, he was released once again on bail. His latest charges include assaulting a man, uttering threats to him, obstructing him from using his property and breaching a recognizance. Newman has pleaded not-guilty to the charge related to the death of his wife. He is back in court April 1.
