Man in connection with east end murder sought by police

Philip Wayne Pynn has been identified only as a “person of interest” in the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s investigation of a fatal shooting in the east end of St. John’s on Saturday night. The RNC’s major crimes unit wants to question Pynn, 25, who has been identified as being at the Portugal Cove Road home where police were called around 10:30 p.m. “One of the things I would like to reiterate to the public as well is that Philip Pynn, while a person of interest in relation to the information he may have about murder investigation, he is also potentially dangerous,” Const. Suzanne FitzGerald said. Police said Pynn may be armed. Pynn has numerous tattoos, including facial tattoos. He stands five-foot-seven and weighs about 170 pounds, the RNC said. A photo of Pynn can be found on CBC’s site.
