One of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most famous one-man band’s passed away Sunday afternoon in Edmonton, Alta. after a short battle with cancer. A. Frank Willis, formerly of Dover, came onto the Newfoundland/folk music scene in the 1970s, garnering fans all over the world. Willis toured extensively until late last year, when he was diagnosed with cancer. During his stage show, he could play up to six instruments himself during a single song. Willis is survived by many family and friends, some of whom still live in Newfoundland and Labrador.
