The body of Nelson Crane, a man from Pine’s Cove in northern Newfoundland, was found on Saturday afternoon. The RCMP say the 56-year-old was reported missing last Thursday after he had gone out snowmobiling near his home and had not returned. He was last seen leaving a store in Green Island Cove on his snowmobile at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Saturday morning, searchers found Crane’s snowmobile about a kilometre from his hometown. Later in the day, they discovered his body about five kilometres away, near Sandy Cove. Police said foul play was not suspected but alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the ordeal. An autopsy will take place in St. Anthony.
