An investigation is ongoing looking into a mishap yesterday which left thousands of Rogers and EastLink customers without cellular, phone, television, internet service, and TheIndependent.ca for part of the day. Apparently construction crews working on the TCH in Terra Nova mistakenly cut the fibre optic cable. There is no word on why they were digging in such close proximity, or of any signage in the area warning of underground cables.
