Moose Newfoundland-bound?

Excitement is building in the West as it appears a deal has finally been finalized to move the Atlanta Thrashers NHL franchise to Winnipeg. An announcement is to take place soon as fans are gathering in large numbers at Winnipeg’s famous Portage & Main intersection.

Now that it is official that an NHL club will occupy the Winnipeg’s hockey venue, the pressure will surely be mounting on the city’s AHL franchise – the Manitoba Moose – to find a new home. Will that new home be St. John’s? It remains to be seen if Danny Williams and Danny Breen and company will be successful in luring the team to The Rock.
