PCs dropping, one by one, from election

Yesterday Newfoundland and Labrador’s Government Services Minister Harry Harding announced he would not be running in this October’s provincial election. Harding is the sixth Progressive Conservative to announce their retirement prior to the election: John Hickey, Dave Denine, Roger Fitzgerald, Jim Baker, and Sheila Osborne have also made the same decision. In the lead-up to the Fall election, it is becoming clear that the PCs are no longer the Danny Williams team – providing a huge opportunity for growth for the Liberal and NDP parties. Stay tuned to TheIndependent.ca later this Summer as we will be releasing a riding-by-riding analysis of the province to help you see where the PCs are going to vulnerable come October.
